    Early departure from your hotel in Fes for the scenic 2.5-hour drive through the Rif Mountains.

    Arrive Chefchaouen

    Enter the medina through the main gate and into the blue labyrinth — every lane, doorway and staircase painted in shades of blue and white.

    Plaza Uta el-Hammam

    Relax in the main square, flanked by a 15th-century grand mosque and the red-stone kasbah. Visit the kasbah gardens and small ethnographic museum.

    Lunch in the medina

    Traditional lunch at a rooftop restaurant overlooking the blue rooftops (own expense). Try the local goat cheese with honey.

    Free exploration & photography

    Free time to wander the narrow streets, visit the artisan shops selling woven rugs, leather goods and local honey.

    Ras el-Maa & Spanish mosque

    Short walk to the Ras el-Maa natural spring where locals do laundry. Optional 20-minute hike to the hilltop Spanish mosque for the best panoramic view over the blue city.

    Return to Fes

    Depart Chefchaouen and arrive back in Fes by evening.
